Silicon Valley Chinese Association (SVCA), an organization with strong grassroots membership in the Chinese American community in Northern California, today announced that the organization has endorsed Hiu Ng, a long-time community activist running for Fremont Unified School District Board of Education.
SVCA believes Ng is a great fit for the school board. He has deep understanding of the education issues impacting schools in California and, in particular, FUSD schools. For two decades, Ng has been actively involved in various aspects of the school district by stepping up to various positions at FUSD and serving on school committees.
His engagement on various fronts, including providing students with age-appropriate sex education materials and fighting for equal education rights for all racial groups, has won him vast support in the community.
Ng’s positions on education-related issues are well aligned with FUSD President Dr. Yang Shao, who is not seeking re-election. Ng, if elected, will be the best person to ensure continued representation of our community’s voices.
