Editor’s Note

Special Notes:

1. Election law stipulates that voters may only write in a candidate’s name during the primary election — this is not allowed in the general election;

2. If a position allows only one selection but has multiple candidates, please choose only one according to your preference; otherwise your ballot will be invalidated.

3. Candidates endorsed by SVCA in this guide are strongly recommended; endorsements by other organizations mentioned in the text are moderately recommended; other candidates listed are suggested. Please use your own judgment.

4. You are welcome to reprint this guide in full; please credit the source.

5. If you don’t like any of the listed candidates, you may leave that selection blank!

A Few Notes:

  1. SVCA members spent time and effort analyzing and compiled this guide with reference to endorsements from multiple organizations.
  2. Nobody can agree with you on every issue — there is no perfect candidate.
  3. This guide’s recommendations are based on analysis of specific candidate information, party affiliation, past voting records, and other opponents in the race, to provide reference. We encourage voters to research and draw their own conclusions.
  4. For local tax increase proposals, the answer is usually No! California is already a high-tax state with no reason to give more. Elected officials need to balance budgets and spending.
  5. We oppose any candidate who actively promotes or supports systemic racial preference bills SCA5/ACA5/Prop16/ACA7.
  6. For questions and feedback, please send email to info@svca.me
