Notes from SVCA

1. Election laws stipulate that voters can only write in candidates’ names during primaries, not during the general election.

2. If only one candidate is allowed for a position, but multiple candidates are listed, please vote for only one based on your preference; otherwise, your ballot will be voided.

3. Candidates endorsed by SVCA on this guide are highly recommended; those endorsed by CAGOP/ SVGOP/ BAHN/ SVARW are moderately recommended; others are suggested. Voters should consider their options carefully.

4. You are welcome to reprint this guide in full, but please include the source.

5. If you dislike all the listed candidates, you may leave your ballot blank!

Some Points to Note:

  1. Members of the SVCA have spent time and effort analyzing and compiling this guide with endorsements from multiple organizations.
  2. No one will agree with you on every issue, meaning there is no perfect candidate.
  3. The recommendations in this guide are based on specific information about the candidates, party affiliations, past voting records, and analysis of their opponents during the campaign. They are intended for reference. We encourage voters to research and come to their own conclusions.
  4. Regarding local tax increase proposals, the usual answer is No! California is already a high-tax state, and there is no reason to give more. Elected officials need to balance the budget and expenditures.
  5. We oppose any candidates who actively promote and support systemic racial preference legislation such as SCA5/ACA5/Prop16/ACA7.
  6. For any questions and feedback, please send an email to info@svca.me.

This voter guide was carefully prepared by the SVCA Voting Guide Sub-Committee. All efforts are voluntary contributions by the members of the association.
